Interpretation of Visualisations of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan

Education expenditure, as per policy, takes diverse and interesting paths. Politics shapes its course, using education as a means to convey their agenda, presenting it as a fresh platform. The core of the policy is to improve lives through learning, evident in statistics that offer governments, whether state or central, a chance to showcase their intentions through education, paving the way to a dignified life.

Crucially, political will is vital for education provision. The quality of infrastructure, teacher development, and the creation of conducive learning environments result from the state's political will and its coordination with the central government. Regions led by regional political parties exhibit a clearer educational agenda with a focused approach to budgetary allocations and expenditures.

Yet, the true measure lies in ground-level implementation. Success should not be solely monetary but seen in tangible outcomes. The transparency of the process is crucial, ensuring the impact is a result of genuine commitment to building a robust educational system.

Trends observed:

1.      In states where the ruling political party aligns with the Central government, budgetary allocations significantly outpaced those in other states.

2.      States led by regional parties, diverging from the interests of the centrally governing political party, failed to attract sufficient funds.

3.      States governed by regional parties typically incurred much higher expenditures than the funds approved at the central level.

4.      The disparity in unspent balances among states is considerable, indicating a need for revisiting and reallocating the budget.
