Problem Statement
The
primary challenges include:
Inadequate
English language skills for Communication:
The
deficiency in communication skills among students is a multifaceted challenge,
rooted in various reasons that collectively hinder their capacity to connect
effectively with others. Of particular concern is the undervaluation of
communication skills, especially in the domains of speaking, writing, and
understanding English language, which has made inferior these crucial abilities
to a secondary status until recent times. This oversight, however, carries
significant consequences, as it can render an individual, despite possessing
exceptional expertise in a specific field, an underutilized and potentially
unproductive resource.
Navigating
the Selection Process:
The
transition into the workforce involves a rigorous selection process, typically
involving written and aptitude tests, group discussions, interviews, and resume
writing. Many students find it challenging to navigate these assessments
effectively, despite their academic prowess.
Building
Professional Relationships:
Beyond
individual knowledge and technical proficiency, the professional presentation
of one’s ideas, building effective and functional relationships with
colleagues, superiors, and other stakeholders are essential for success in a
professional setting. Many students may not be sufficiently prepared for this
aspect of their careers. Recognizing communication skills as a linchpin in
professional success is pivotal, and individuals need to master the art of
effective verbal and written expression. This involves not only the grammatical
nuances of language but also an understanding of corporate etiquette and
behavior.
The
course aims to equip students with essential communication skills in English by
delving into various aspects of language proficiency and effective
communication. The content is organized to ensure a comprehensive coverage of
the subject matter making use of Task based learning.

These tasks are carefully structured to mirror situations commonly encountered
in the education industry. The aim is to provide learners with a practical and
immersive understanding of the dynamics, demands, and problem-solving aspects
of their professional domain.
One distinctive feature of the intervention
is the intentional integration of digital technology. Participants will

the education sector. This approach not only enhances their technological
proficiency but also equips them with practical skills that can be directly
applied in their professional roles. The use of real-life scenarios ensures
that the intervention is not merely theoretical but has immediate relevance and
applicability to the learners' work environment.

Assumptions
·
If a learner is equipped with the intricacies of language, the
ability to make their idea understood by another person becomes easier.
·
If a learner is exposed to task-based learning for communication
training, it makes their expression more refined. (as it exposes one to diverse
situations and contexts, though hypothetical)
·
If a learner is enabled with a self-correction mechanism using ITE,
it raises their chances at a lifelong learning journey.
Content Requirements
The
content is totally taken from free sources available on the internet. No new
content other than what the students create will be a part of the course.
Operational Requirements
The
course will require the students to carry an Internet operating Device (IOT)
with a functional internet connection.
Release Plan
The
intervention is still in its nascent stages. We are planning to conduct an
intervention in an educational institution.
